Concrete Tupac

Tupac Shakur was a gangsta rapper. Born '71 Brooklyn, NY, both parents were Black Panthers. He was incarcerated for minor crimes as often as he was on stage and making records. In '96, he was assassinated in his car in Las Vegas by unknown killers

This artwork was made by Paolo Chiasera after he launched a discussion group online about Tupac . Next he created this life-size statue of Tupac and had it situated outside MARTa Herford, this is a return to the nowadays rather unfashionable tradition of erecting monuments to artistic greats. the Tupac Monument will eventually be set in a concrete wall somewhere in Bologna.
