DH Lawrence??

It's impossible to look at figs without thinking of DH Lawrence isn't it???? Shamefully I cant even remember which book the fig eating incident occurs in, it must be Women in Love, but its now impossible to eat figs without indulging in hysterical lasciviousness!! Anyway, moving swiftly on - this is our third fig!!! And we have another six ripening up nicely. I'm delighted and it tasted delicious.

No work for me on a Friday, so coffee and cinnamon buns with Lisa followed by a very productive hour or so in the polytunnel. Out came the old sweetcorn, aubergines, beans and in went spinach, cauliflower, chard and assorted winter lettuces. It's looking very tidy briefly.

Himself bought me a DVD of The Killing for my birthday. We're hooked. It's Danish, very dark and extremely well done - a sort of Scandinavian Prime Suspect. Highly recommended for the darkening evenings.
