Seed heads

These caught my eye as I toured the garden for a blip this morning. They stood above the wall against the sky and I liked their shape. They are a leftover from the Clematis Montana that flowered last May.

As the sky was so grey I tweaked the contrast a little to get a slightly spikier effect.

This is one with a softer contrast which shows off the 'feathers' more. here. Not sure which is best - perhaps you can judge.
