Firecracker

Tonight was the school disco and the theme was fireworks. The kids were expected to dress up in accordance with the theme.
We went for simple but wearable with dark clothes and a burst of colour on top.
Alex said he was the night sky and his head was the fireworks.
I used my precious Copic textas to colour his hair and eyeshadow on his head. I could have done something a lot more dramatic if I included his eyes but I didn't want to put any makeup near his eyes and I didn't want any of the other kids teasing him for wearing makeup. At least like this it looks more like face paint. He accessorized with lots of glow sticks.
He had a good time, said he danced with 'everyone' and they played some games too. For this age group the disco only goes for 1 hour so it wasn't too tiring or too late for him.
All the colour washed off easily in a shower before bed except for the yellow bits which are concealer. I had to get out the makeup remover for that. Good thing there was some in the prize I won (see yesterdays blip).
Shame the Copics washed out so easily. I expect them to have more staying power and he wouldn't have minded keeping a bit of colour in his hair for a party that's on tomorrow.
