Pine Cones

These were brought home from our recent holiday in France. We were walking the "Sentiers des 25 Bosses" in the Fontainebleau Forest and picked them up along the route.

They are a good sign of the weather as when it is wet they close up completely and roll away off the doorstep.

I was putting the milk bottles out this morning and just spotted this as an opportunity the way they were lying on the door step.
