sight & sound
At night, the lights blaze. Racks of servers wink through the ground-floor windows behind rows of monitors and filing cabinets. During the daytime the small pile of fagbutts outside the back door is incremented by the cleaners. At weekends a small security guard can sometimes be spotted through the window by the front door; every now and then one can be seen climbing the stairs between the first and second floors. I've not noticed the name of the new business on the door or anywhere else; they could be a simple electronic storage or hosting company but a: that doesn't explain the huge pile of monitors and b: why did they need to occupy an entire lovely old steel-framed industrial premises which would be much better employed as a large and spacious house mere inches from my current flat for easy moving?
No other pictures really worked today so got this one the way back from the shop where I forgot to get washing powder. A fortuitous train did cause what was meant to be a picture of some out-of-focus train tracks glinting in the distance into an out-of-focus light trail but the arrangement of twigs in the foreground is too sloppy. And they were blown all over the place as the train passed beneath though that was only in the last second of exposure so the effect was minimal. There were the two construction workers attempting to steal the drainpipes from the old infirmary but it was too hard to crop.
All the snow has gone which makes me sad.
Tomorrow is Friday which makes me happy.
Lost is back on telly in America which makes me happy.
None of the selected .torrents of episode seven are proceeding quickly enough to be finished in time to watch tonight. This makes me annoyed.
Off to sleep instead.
