Summer's fading fast
Sedum spectabile 'Autumn Joy' has a special place in the garden but I have mixed feelings about it. I love its deep pink flower-heads but feel kind of sad when they begin to show colour because it means that summer is drawing to an end.
Spent the day preparing for my trip north on Sunday. Washing, ironing, shopping and making tomato and basil soup with some of those golden tomatoes which are ripening fast.
A perfect early autumn morning - so still, warm and easy.
Had some pleasant chats with neighbours (I am very fortunate to have some really caring ones) and heard from a good friend who is having a very tough time but is feeling better. A good day...
For the record: 17C, sunny spells and so calm - hard to believe that just a few days ago gales were wreaking havoc.
