Prestonfield

This is Prestonfield House Hotel, on the southside of Edinburgh. I took part in a breakfast meeting there this morning with the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Donald Tsang at which University and College Principals, Chinese studies interests, the SQA, Education Scotland and others discussed the common educational issues between the two places, the way we are working together and how we can go on assisting each other. There was a particularly interesting focus on how we could exchange more undergraduate and postgraduate students , and on the commonality of the 3/3/4 organisation of secondary school and university study, a model which Hong Kong is now adopting and which I also discussed with their Education Minister and their Universities when I was there last year.
