Fieldwork

Started on a new project with the design class today. I never know just how much to orchestrate and how much to let them figure out. The new site required doing some fieldwork (measuring and drawing up a base plan of a courtyard for their designs). I went through all the trouble of splitting the class into teams, making sure there were people who know AutoCAD on each team, that the loosey-goosies are pared up with the detail-oriented, and so on.

In the end, the kids had a party: two ran up and down with the tape, some wrote stuff down, others just stood around, cheering, and cracking up. Team spirit was there, base map will be ready. What do I care about the details...

Had to lay down again to take this one. I'm doing this a lot lately; must be because I don't get to sleep as much as I should. :-)
