Ian's birthday

His partner is in Tokyo so I bought him lunch at the National Cafe where we both had fishcakes with a poached egg.

Conversation turned to film making and to a project he's working on about Jack the Ripper.

This prompted me to enthuse about the Sickert's at Tate Britain and for us to pop down there. Sadly the Camden School show had just finished, but we had some passable Pasmore's to occupy the time as well as some pop art favourites and far too much coffee in the Members Room.

Great weather, nice afternoon, despite minor panic attack on the Jubilee Line at Westminster this morning when I couldn't find the lift. Luckily a couple of American tourists saved the day and found someone from London Underground to get me out. Note to London Underground... get your signage system sorted out!
