Taking a walk...

<SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA>Most evenings my dad goes for a walk. Mostly up and down our driveway. As I watched him for a bit this evening, I grabbed my camera. The last few months, we have been taking a walk (journey, experience, whatever you'd like to call it) as a family. Daddy was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago and he started chemo and radiation therapy approximately 3 weeks ago. It has been challenging and every day has been another day where we have had to rely on God to be there and to show up.

Tonight we were home early enough so my sister joined Daddy on his walk and so did our dogs :)) I suspect there are some days when Daddy probably walks up and down our driveway on his own but truthfully he/we never walk alone. We serve a God who will walk with us constantly (Deuteronomy 31:8, Joshua 1:5) who is/has been constantly by our side and who will carry him/us when we feel like we can't walk any more.

So Lord, as we walk I thank You for being there and for providing for us. And Lord, I pray that the physical muscles and our spiritual ones will be strengthened...as we walk with You.
