Took the ferry to Padstow tonight - or Padstein as it has become 'affectionately' known. Without a doubt you cannot fail to see the impact the input of Rick Stein has had on the village - but it pulls in the tourists and keeps the economy thriving - and people in jobs. And I can't see much wrong in that. Like most tourists we decided to try Rick's fish and chips. Now we have eaten at the Magpie in Whitby so Rick had a tough act to follow - but he did so admirably. We had previously thought £12 for a fish and chip supper was extortionate. But given the cost of a meal out in Cornwall, this was incredible value and worth every penny.
We then rang the water taxi (how cool is that?!). And boarded it at the harbour for our trip back to Rock and this stunning sunset. No fancy apps used here. These were the colours we were privileged to view. How lucky are we? :-)
