When it came to laying out a garden while our new house was being built, I cleared an area of surrounding bush within the property we live on. The benefit of this is that we have natural vegetation right up to our fenceline, and this brings with it a few of the animals living around us.
Yesterday afternoon, our two Jack Russels were going mad at the fence, and it turned out to be a pair of Warthogs, possibly eyeing out the lush grass on our side of the fence. The Warthogs did not seem too fazed by all the noise, but at one point one of them stepped back and gave a quick charge at the fence, exciting the dogs even more.
A moment ago, I could hear our dogs barking again, and ran out with camera in hand. Once again the dogs and Wathogs were catching up on the days news, and I managed to snap a quick (poor) photo before they saw me and ran off, tails up!
These sightings remind me how blessed we are to live where we do with the view that we have.
