Happy Holiday!

1 September is the Russian Day of Knowledge, and (perhaps not coincidentally) the first day of school nationwide. there were balloons and bunting around the entrances to schools in Moscow today, and in the afternoon there were children everywhere, excitedly telling their parents about their first day at school.
