I Spy.......a football ground

Leaving work I glanced through the "grater holes" in the car park and caught a glimpse of my second home Bramall Lane. You can see the top of the stands in centre shot, beyond the old workshops, old factories and new flats.

No glimpse of floodlights these days, which always caused a ripple of excitement as a young lad, but still a warm glow all the same. I was to go there a couple of hours later, after going home to see my wife and children. It wasn't a happy trip to Bramall Lane. We lost 3-0 to local rivals Huddersfield, although the scoreline doesn't really reflect the game or the chances we had.

I hope I have a happier visit on Saturday.
