The Desideratum !
Despite a late run last night and a very early start this morning ( both made possible by the high winds keeping things dry ) we where again rained off today some 50 acres short of finishing harvest!
I went up to the yard with Mrs AS to bring Miller in and was looking for a blip amid the fallen leaves, branches and conkers, when I remmebered seeing this window in a farm building now being used as a stable. It hails from a time before corn dryers as we knowthem now. It is heavily painted which makes reading all the inscription difficult, " The Desideratum Sliding Granary Window " ( sliding also something the paint has put an end to ) a registration not a patent number and I think the name Theakston Walker York. A bit of agry history.
