Blooming Water Lily

Lauraiea's asked me to 'blip' once again: she's visiting a project in Oakland (USA) today, and may not have time (plus the time difference is a bit confusing).

So, if she looks in here: terrible weather in Scotland today, but I went out into the garden and in the pond, two months late (due to the terrible weather in Scotland all summer), there is a water lily. It looks fake, and when it first bloomed a couple of years ago, I thought it was a 'pretend lily' put there by a neighbour as a prank. *

However, on a gloomy, stormy day, this aquatic flower raised a smile!

* I planted potatoes in my neighbour's flower tubs by way of a prank this year.
