Battle of Bloomington

While walking in the park this afternoon, I saw the group of mock battlers that often meet in the park on Sunday afternoons. I found out today that their group actually has a name. They had a sign board up today that said "Bloomington Battle Games Club." I posted a blip about them a while back (see my blip for August 21st). On that day, there were only about 7 or 8 people present, but today there must have been about 30. Most of the time they just seem to mill about, chatting with one another. But once in a while they will line up in two teams and then for a couple of minutes they will start battling, one team against another. There seems to be a referee, who determines which team is the winner, at least there was today. Their battles seem to consist of chasing an opponent and trying to whack him or her with a padded sword. To watch it, it looks very chaotic.
