9/11
In memory of all the American people that lost their lives on September 11th 2001 and also the innocent Afghan and Iraqi civilian people who have since paid the ultimate price for a crime they did not commit (some say it's 1.750.000 people who have died).
My reaction to those events 10 years ago was - in retrospect - a bit odd. I just blocked it out, couldn't think about it or process it at the time it happened. I didn't watch the news clips on TV or talk about it much, just let it wash over me without reacting to it (I was very stressed at this point in my life, I might add, so maybe it was just some psychical reaction, I don't know).
Then later, in 2009, I began reading about the events and watching vidoes on youtube to better understand what had really happened that day. The magnitude of it all was, and still is, overwhelming.
