Marjorie's ramblings

The film crew

Today was the monthly Greenhead Farmers' Market. It's an excellent market with local suppliers selling great produce. I usually buy meat here. Today there was alpaca meat for sale. I knew that I could not try it because Mum won't eat lamb since she moved into the country! Anyway, it seems that keeping alpacas for meat is a new trend.

During the market a duo of film makers were interviewing people. One is a composer who is going to write music for the film. Here they are talking to retired vicar, Rev S P, who had just taken the service in Greenhead Church. S used to be vicar in our village. When we moved in here he told me solemnly that my house was holy. This is because the stones used to face it came from the servants' quarters of the vicarage, when that wing was demolished in the late 70s. It certainly gives my more modern house an older authentic appearance.

I met quite a few walkers who may come to the Festival (tickets still available if you are interested on Haltwhistle Walking Festival website
