Propitious Sky for a Magical Wedding

My best friend Kristin got married today. She and Scott, her partner of 12 years, literally "jumped the broom."

It was a fun and wonderful day. Bruce presided, his second wedding of the summer. We are telling him he has found his future retirement career! No, he is not a minister or a justice of the peace. In the US, anyone can apply for a one-day special permit to legally marry people. It is good for one day a year, per state, for a particular wedding. Earlier this summer, he also married our son and his wife in Vermont.

He said quietly afterwards, "Could you see me shaking?"

We ducked out of the festivities a little early and went home to find this blazing sunset over the back pasture. A good omen!
