Grandma J's 80th birthday

Very busy day today. Master C had a birthday party in the morning and then it was off to North Berwick to celebrate an 80th birthday. Grandma J is a fabulous lady and looking great for 80! She is not actually related to us but she treats us as if we are, with lots of kind words and advice, and the odd talking to if warranted. This realtionship all started back when Mr C and one of her sons became best friends when they were only 5.

Her children did her proud with the party. There was lovely food, an absolutely hilarious quiz, a short film about her life and to top it all off the ?surprise?, (which was kept a closely guarded secret) a female impersonator. Master D found the whole thing bizarre and hilarious. The performer was great and had the whole room in stitches. The guy had obviously been warned that there would be some kids there, and adjusted his act accordingly. I can only wonder what will be the reaction at Master D's school, as he loves to share news, and I'm sure this story won't slip his mind!

The whole night was great and Grandma J had her whole family there, which doesn?t happen very often, and, although protested that it was too much fuss, enjoyed her night immensely.
