Street traders

These are typical newly harvested bananas on the farm. They cost the traders about 1.5 kwachas (on the farm). They bring them home (maybe 8 km), allow them to ripen and sell them for about 3 kwachas each.
Bottom line is that sometimes you can buy 200 bananas for a pound!!!.
Bananas grow all year round here and sell well.

Later: Harisen Writes:

I went to meet the District Education Manager on our intention to construct a school block in Sonda. The last time I went to her office she went to Scotland.

She was very happy to hear our plans, and said they welcome any support that we may come up with.
I will visit her again on Monday on the same issue.

I took a picture of these women selling bananas, I asked them whether they are selling their own or not?
They are selling for somebody else and are paid 100Mk for a load and are paid for each load, up to as many loads as they can.

Regards
Harisen
