Spoonbills

The white birds are spoonbills, at the Parc ornithologique du Marquenterre, in the Somme estuary. If you go large you can see the spoon shaped bill of the bird in the centre. Had to wait for ages for any of them to show their faces; they were quite happily snoozing.

This is apparently one of only two bird reserves in France, but worth a visit.

We saw (I made a list!):
White wagtail
Black tailed godwit
Cormorant (lots)
Little Egret
White stork
Spoonbill
Redshank
Greenshank
Mallard
Shelduck
Shoveler
Little grebe
Great crested grebe
Coot
Ruddy shelduck
House martins
