Maritime Festival

After a rather hectic Friday & Saturday, we woke late and decided not to do too much today. The sun was shining so we thought we'd take advantage of the nice day and head into town as the annual Maritime Festival was being held this weekend. We went a good few years ago and every year say we are going to go again but never get round to it.

I'm glad we did this year though as it was a really nice way to while away a couple of hours. We saw the RNLI in their speedy rescue boats shoot up & down the river as well as performing a practise rescue of one of their own. There were stalls galore, walking lighthouses & herrings, performances and a couple of magnificent tall ships. On one of them there were some acrobats performing on bungee type ropes from the rigging and they were amazing! This is a blip of one of them. We had a chat to the Royal Navy who were there, Billy saw one of his managers from work dressed up to do some sort of re-enactment and Arwen became a Junior Explorer in the RSPB. It was a really good afternoon :)
