Kimono parade
Last day in Sapporo and the conference centre. Had to start rationing our freebies as we had hardly anything left. Got to recognize the 'hooverers' who will pass by the stands several times picking up pens and sweets!
Part of the cultural programme at the conference involved a chance to wear a kimono, take a flower arranging class or do some calligraphy. The kimono wearers paraded through the concourse to lots of applause and then had a photo call. Two of the girls were UK students out for the conference. I'm hoping to email them the photos later.
Had fun trying to do the online check in for the next day's flights home. Went on a frenzied present-buying trip against the clock.
Our last meal was in a traditional noodle bar - apparently Sapporo is famous for ramen noodles in miso soup. We found a very basic restaurant that boasted that it could produce vegetable-only dishes. The vegetarian option had only a small amount of pork in it! I fished it out and then enjoyed the rest - a hot filling and tasty meal.
