The Old Post Office

This sad old building has been lying empty since the elderley spinster who had run the post office for years died recently.

It was like walking into a musuem and when you bought a stamp there, the change would be found from lots of different money bags, coppers here, silver there. Sadly in her latter years the postmistress was attacked and robbed and the Post Office insisted that she have a safety screen installed. I don't think she welcomed this and it was definately the end of an era.

When she died and the place was cleared, a lot of the contents went to auction and fetched a decent sum of money.

You'll see Banana in the blip reading a planning notice on the door, announcing the erection of two dwellings. It isn't clear if this means the demolition of the old building or whether they will be built on the ground at the back.
We sincerely hope this lovely old building will be restored to it's former glory!
