A packed lunch?

I both love and hate the return to school after the summer break!

It has been weird week of trying to routines established again. I am back to work after a week's leave, and Brownies, gym and school all start again this week for my daughter.

I'm shattered.

On the first day back, my daughter informed us that she had two trips within a week. The first was yesterday; a walk to a nearby copse to build a dam in a stream. Fortunately, we found a pair of wellies that still fit in the garage. The kids had fun but got completely drenched because of the torrential rain.

The other trip is next Monday. I have less than a week to kit her out in Victorian costume for their themed day at a former textile mill. Luckily, I had kept a nightie that we made into a pinafore for a similar day in Y 3. With some alterations it still fit!

School are keeping us parents on our toes. I won't be able to keep up if the pace continues!
