Castle Klöden
Seen at the 5th day of our short vacation tour after we have left Wittenberg with all its weighty historical things. We left the mainstream and rushing roads and found this very nice and hidden location which can be seen as a place with good energy, to rest and relax at the little lake near by, and not only hikers can do so.
Castle Klöden is driven by a small group of people enthusiastic to save the local heritage site, the friends of Castle Klöden. Details you will find (unfortunately only in German) at
http://www.burg-kloeden.de/fv/index_fv.html#foerderverein_
This castle is named the last still preserved and open for public castle in the area of middle Elbe. More details you will find at
http://www.burg-kloeden.de/index.html
When viewing the location we got the impression that Castle Klöden has been forgotten by the official protection of Germany's and Saxony-Anhalt historical heritage. The friends of Castle Klöden are struggeling for help more than 7 years now but couldn't even get the support to fix the roof in the way it should be done. From the talks with some members of friends of Castle Klöden we learned that they wouldn't refuse positive and constructive help whatever way offered. For details on the project you my contact the president of friends of Castle Klöden Mr. Thomas Petzold via mail verein@burg-kloeden.de
After this nice and interesting stop we continued our way to Dresden.
