Camelus bactrianus
At a conference at the University of Geneva, the presence of the Swiss National Circus 50 metres down the road was irresistible for a relaxed lunch break. For 6 francs (little more than the price of a coffee here) you can commune with the Zebra, Watusi, elephants, goats and pigs and monkeys and llamas and ponies as long as you like - and this beautiful creamy-coloured Bactrian camel. All the animals seemed extremely healthy, contented and cared for. Although, for most of them, the centre of Geneva must be a very strange place to be....
