All good things.......
come to he/she who waits!
Maybe not dreckly - but within half an hour or so.
Set off at 8.30 this morning for our annual holiday at a lovely cottage in Cornwall. Months of planning to choose the right one. Arrived 8 hours later to find it in the same state the previous occupants had left it. I would hate to see their own homes. Cleaner for whatever reason had not cleaned and on our wedding anniversary no way was hubby having us clean. This place wasn't cheap so fair enough - even though I volunteered. So one irate phone call to the owner and a two hour drive later - we finally find a B&B in a 14th century inn in Tintagel for the night.
Perfect place to spend an anniversary. Although starter took an hour to arrive by which time steve had sampled most of the Cornish ales and finished half a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc! Staff were so lovely though. We had to forgive them. Didn't dare risk waiting for dessert though so took a single malt back to the room and retired for the night! Perhaps we will stick with toast and cereal for breakfast so we can finally settle in to the cottage before nightfall. It is now fit for human habitation we are informed!
That's providing hurricane Katia hasn't flattened it as the west coast wind is scarily picking up now. But I'm sure we will sleep through them after the much needed and well earned alcohol consumption tonight! Happy Anniversary Hun. Another adventure! Let's stop at home next year eh?! ;-)
