After going to sleep according to plan and not waking properly up when being administered his intravenous antibiotics, Edgar was up shouty and early at five, prompting a "he's up a bit early, isn't he?" from the unsuspecting nurses, who weren't to know it's pretty much his normal awakening time, exacerbated by Nicky having been clearly visible and shotuable-at through the cot bars. Nicky hadn't yet received her camp bed when I left at about nine so probably hadn't got much sleep, especially when the light which shone directly into her cubicle turned out to be the only light at that end of the ward which was left on until after midnight to allow nocturnal administration of medication. I'd somehow slept through or automatically-turned-off four alarms and didn't wake up until after seven, but was out of the house within an hour even though I had to take the car back up. Edgar was just wanting to go to the playroom and up and down the ward with the toy brush from the playroom which let Nicky get away for a shower, some breakfast and another wee sleep or two before the ward round where it was confirmed that we'd be allowed to escape today, though the subsequent delay before anything happened meant that lunch was administered before his remaining cannula and toe blood monitor were removed, shortly after he'd finally gone for a wee nap. He leaked for a strangely long time after the cannula was removed considering how bloodless his accidental removal of the other one had been but at least refrained from wriggling too hard whilst pressure was being applied to the spot.
