Pays-Bas

Took my motorcycle the last two days for a tour through the Netherlands and Germany. This picture was taken in the most northeastern province of the Netherlands: Groningen. It also shows exactly why the French are calling our country Pays-Bas; the low country. Well below sea level and a very flat countryside makes us very vulnerable for flooding. A very expensive dike- and storm barrier system is therefore needed for maximum protection. It was very quiet on the road, but very busy in the air; approximate one thousand bugs didn't survive the collision with the windshield of my motorcycle.
