Penance

After yesterday's lunch excesses , I have been reduced to dry biscuits and water today.
I tell a lie, I did have the corner of his Lordship's tiffin cake this morning. But it was just the corner, OK sorry, corners. I must be honest.

That of course is the thin edged of the wedge, so it will be best not to repeat this transgression too often, although it is very hard to nurse a cup of coffee, especially when not being a particular fan of the same, and watch your partner consuming forbidden delights. His Lordship has a short memory on his excesses.

But you are what you eat, and I would really prefer to look like a cream cracker than a slab of tiffin cake- a bit more two dimensional as it were.

Actually while confessing all, I have to say that when desperate, I have been known to put a little, just a scraping you understand, of peanut butter on to the cream cracker. I feel it gives me a little protein, unfortunately along with rather more fat than is possibly good for me. Oh dear isn't life such a trial of temptations.

Tomorrow sees the start of the cycling Tour of Britain in Peebles.
I would dearly love to see the teams in the flesh, especially the legendary Cavendish with the HTC -highroad squad, but I haven't been able to find out when the race starts.

If there are any cycling aficionados out in blipland who know, could they, or more grammatically, would they let me know?

I think it may prove to be quite a hard ride to Dumfries as the SW wind is rising, a relic of hurricane Katia.
