Fresh Fruit?

I am being constantly dsappointed by the quality of fruit in our supermarkets.
It's either frozen bananas that never ripen, just go off or this appetising punnet of nectarines under priced at £1 but overpriced when they are not fit to eat. There was more juice in a cotton bud.
I need to get to the market more often!
