Deer on the run

In medieval times apparently great forests and woodlands covered huge parts of Britain. I'm lucky enough to live near some of what remains and our Friday walk passed through some of it today. Just as we were crossing an open bit of land between two woods someone shouted to look to our left and we were treated to a beautiful sight. Two stags and a doe startled by our presence and running for cover. I only had my 'walking' camera - it's not speedy and doesn't have much of a telephoto but I managed to catch them as they bounded away. Not a good quality image but it was the highspot of the day.

Apparently the north of the country may catch the tail end of Hurricane Katia and the Met Officed is putting out warnings of very high winds. I hope everyone keeps safe.
