Cosmos

Our knitting group met on the beach this morning, hoping to soak up some of the lovely late summer sun, which, alas, did not come out before noon. Nevertheless, it was fun sitting and chatting and working on our socks, afghan, scarf, coat and hat. A pod of dolphins lent a festive air to the dark flat ocean as they curled and cavorted fairly close to shore.

As to the cosmos, there is a wonderful self-seeding clump of them out by the back fence, nearly engulfing the new little apple trees.
