Mellow Yellow

This is Hopetoun monument, near Haddington.

I have to say I sort of loath this yellow stuff - but couldn't resist the unreal colour of it today.

The monument was raised to the then local landlord (Lord Hopetoun) by his 'grateful tenantry'. Yeah, I bet. It's always reminded me of that bit in Blackadder III where Wellington brings the Prince a cigarette case saying: "The men had a whip round and got you this. Well, what I mean is I had the men roundly whipped until they got you this".

Oh, something along those lines anyway.

Still haven't got a working computer of my own so probably won't be able to get anything uploaded again until Sunday night.
