what lies beneath...

This is a hippo skull, it looks much more ferocious than seeing a hippo in the flesh...

Today I was giving one of our interns a tour around the collection centre, I take stores like the Bone yard for granted now, and forget what a curious place it is for people who have never been there before. I was reminded of it today, so I thought I would blip it and give you all a sneaky peak. The majority of skeles here are parts of whale, the really big bits are the jaws... but we also have elephant skulls, and deer and elk skulls, and then other boxes of bones that I would need one of the curators to identify...
