Optimistic...or Poms?

Today, it has been about 17 degrees C. The Eldest was mithering about her ear again this morning, so yet another day off school and a trip to the doctor.

We decided that before picking up the Youngest from school, that we'd do a drive by around the coast. There was this cluster who were showing the depth of their madnessswimming from the jetty in Maraetai.

They've gotta be Poms! There's no self respecting local who'd be in that water without some serious wetsuit action at this stage of the game.

In other news, the Husband has scored free tickets to tomorrow night's Rugby World Cup Opening Ceremony and the match between NZ and Tonga. He's rather chuffed. I'm now planning on invading a friend's house, and watching the fireworks from their upstairs lounge. They look out over the harbour towards the Sky Tower. Warmer there than all the other options, and no risk of traffic jams.
