Groundhog Day

A Mum to unofficially welcome fall--love the apricot sherbet color.

Massive thunderstorms & heavy, heavy downpours led to serious flash flooding & made this afternoon & evening's commutes a nightmare. I was detoured 5 times, tripling my 30 min. drive & making me feel like I was in the movie Groundhog Day where the same situation kept playing itself out no matter what I did. I know the car is supposed to be a safe spot during a thunderstorm, but that didn't comfort me much as I pulled over to wait out the worst of one. I couldn't see the road or the dangerous ponding conditions on the roads & was worried about how the bus or I'd get home safely. Somehow we did, thankfully. Then, we had Back-to-School night at 6:00 & were 20 mins. late due to more roads closed. This was worse than last week's hurricane. I'm exhausted & hear the rolling thunder again! So glad tomorrow is my day off, as we're expecting more of the same. Creeks are turning into muddy flowing rivers. The earth has hit its limit, & quite honestly so have I!
