First Day Back on the Bus!!!
Overall it was a pleasant return to the saddle...the kids seemed genuinely happy to see my face as my bus approached them. There were many new wee ones this year to keep track of and many new names for me to learn...helps keep my mental capacities sharp as a tack (just kidding as my senior moments are many). After my first bus run I had two leftover kids...but I got them safely to their stop and informed their mom what bus they should be on tomorrow afternoon. Uneventful other than that and that is good.
A very busy day other wise too. I got up at 5am and went to the Y, then to work with the dogs in the back of the car, then to the dog park after the am bus run to walk the hooligans. Then I dropped them off at home and head to the store to get my ailing elderly friend some supplies---she's the one who lost her daughter last Nove. and who was in and out of the hospital and rehab. Yesterday she was back to the ER with congestive heart failure and CPOD issues. It's a big worry. I only had time for a short visit as she lives 40 min. away and I needed to get back for my pm bus run. But I'm glad I saw her and will try to keep tabs the rest of the week on her.
Whew...time t rest and cool off...it was dreadfully hot in the bus --upper eighties and predicted to be this hot for the next couple weeks. Figures now that school has begun that summer comes here:) Happy Hump day tomorrow!
