Kurt Vile & the Violaters

Headed off to Stereo in Glasgow tonight straight from work to see Kurt Vile and his band The Violaters.

The support band were awful. Jill was actually sick and the venue as a whole isn't that great. But we got right down the front so had an amazing view and got some great pictures not to mention standing next to the speakers.

What a great sound they have going on. They are really nailing some sort of alt country low-fi acoustic tribal noise mantra thing. I got the feeling tonight that they and especially Kurt are on the verge of something truly amazing.

This was a great gig. We even bought ourselves an L.P and hung around for a quick chat. They are all spot on guys as well and seemed genuinely shocked about the attention they were getting after the gig.

Their new album is called "Smoke ring for my halo" buy it, it's great!

Kurt ended the set by himself with Peeping Tomboy
