Anxious
Daughter #1 starts her new secondary school tomorrow and she has been quite anxious all day.
In the afternoon, the drama teacher called with the results of the lamda exam that the girls took the day after school closed for the summer. They have both been awarded a distinction. They were both extremely chuffed with themselves.
The weather was foul - wet and windy. I tried to persuade the girls to come to the park with me for some fresh air but only daughter #2 could be persuaded. She was happy to splash about in the puddles in her flip flops. She was probably the only child with flip flops in the park. Everyone else had wellies.
My son has been back at school since yesterday and is extremely enthusiastic about his school work. He spent ages on his homework and his text books have been written in very neatly. I wonder how long this will last for? I feel very proud of his enthusiasm to be back at school. The classes have been jumbled up and he is now in a class with fresh faces.
The girls are back tomorrow and they have been busy getting pencil cases, school bags etc ready. Daughter #1 came downstairs just before dinner in her new school uniform and daughter #2 has placed her school clothes neatly in a pile in her bedroom. She also asked me to come into her bedroom to show me the special shelf in her wardrobe that she has cleared out to make space for only her new school uniform.
Things may be a bit hectic in the morning....
