What a Wet and Windy Day!

The weather has been shocking here in South Wales today, a typical rough, wet and wild Autumn Day. I managed to get out in the garden inbetween the torrential downpours to take a photo of this Anemone thats surprisingly flourishing in this border in our garden!!
We have the most horrendous clay soil here that with all the rain has more or less turned into a mud bath! Hardly anything ever survives because of the poor quality of the soil and I have tried everything to improve it. From manure to horticultural grit, all to no avail! If anybody has got any other solutions I could try then please let me know!
Just watched the England v Wales footie match with hubby and my brother and I thought Wales put on a good show, despite the 1-0 scoreline.
