Lights and shadows
Morning light in Edinburgh at the back of The Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh. The shadows of the street lights on the, um, pillars struck me. But then I thought this was "just" an art gallery. Phfff! What do I know?!
Apparently the RSA has Doric uprights, whilst the neighbouring National Gallery (the one at the back) has Ionic uprights. Well, fantastic. I looked it up on Wikipedia in the hope of appreciating some great artistic thing, you know what? It's just frillyness. Phfft.
So, is it an art gallery? Well, yes. But why the name? Politics, money, influence, power. See the RSA link above which has a history. Yuk.
And they get all grumpy when you go in with a rucksack on.
All in all, the outside is just fine.
