Daily Bread Co-op Mural

This co-operative was started in Northampton in 1976 by a group of nine committed Christians. Their aim was how to pursue profit without being greedy? The co-0p was to be owned and controlled by its workers.
A significant percentage of their total remuneration goes to Third World causes supporting various projects in developing countries. Giving aid as well as trade. They support the organic movememnt and are registered with the Soil Association to manufacture and sell more than 400 organic products.
They also support people recovering from mental disorders, offering employment in a supportive setting.
Trading started in October 1980 with a working group of three. In 2002 staff numbered 20 including part time staff with sales of over £1 million.
