Roland

I'm not very good at portraits, but I was in town today and said hello to Roland Bateman.

Roland is one of the 'characters' of Penrith; easily recognised and well known throughout the town, by people of all ages. He has lived in Penrith forever, enjoys the pictures and lucozade.

A few years ago, he was painted, life-sized in oils; that picture hangs in the local museum - and looks just like he does here. He has a very distinctive voice which can be heard here on youtube.
