Ruff day at Titchwell
The RSPB have drained the marshes at Titchwell in preparation for the final phase of the sea defence work, and this had the wonderful effect of bringing the waders in close to the Island Hide.
This ruff was feeding right in front of where I was standing and a black-tailed godwit follow later and can be seen HERE.
It was a really great day with lots to be seen, including a male sparrowhawk that gave fantastic views as it took a ringed plover and started it eat it in full view. I could see every detail through my scope and so I tried filming it with my mobile, but it looked further away than the view I had had. The video can be seen on Youtube.
