Pig Out in the Park Concert: Carbon Leaf

The annual fair Pig out in the Park in Spokane Wa brings out the worst in food and the best in free music.

We avoided the bacon wrapped hot dogs and deep fried oreos and chose a falafel sandwich and veggies over noodles.

The food wasn't great, but we came down to see two band's I've always liked:

Carbon Leaf, and Marcy Playground. The show was free, so cant beat that!

The headliners play under this clock tower during the several day festival.

Carbon Leaf was ammmmaaaaaazing. They have such a unique sound to them that mixes in a bit of folk, rock, and celtic. One of my favorite Carbon Leaf song's, I Know the Reason, was sadly left out of the set, but no complaints here because they ROCKED!

As for Marcy Playground, they were okay, but disappointed a bit. It seemed like everyone just wanted to hear the song that made them famous for a year. They of course played this One Hit Wonder and then most of the crowd left. They also did a great cover of Cohen's Hallelujah.
